Tracy Bell

The Life's a Beach Bracelet was a challenge piece that had to include animal, mineral and vegitable. All the pieces were collected by me or my friends off the Florida beaches except the pearls.

If you could learn to create art in any medium you have not tried (or have not mastered), what would it be?
I would love to learn how to weld, a friend of mine just
took a class in basic welding and made some amazing yard art. I can see it
mixing well with large glass pieces.
What artist you would like to study with (living or dead) and why?
I would choose Leanardo Divinchi, he was an extreem forward thinker and I wonder
what he would think of all our inventions since his death. If he lived in this
time I wonder what he would invent for our future.
What key piece of advice have you learned in your creative journey that you share with others?
Be true to yourself and your art. Don’t let someone
dictate to you what they want to carry in their shop or gallery. If they don’t
want to carry what you are loving to make at the moment move on because if you
end up hating what you are being forced to create it will show in your work.
What adornment could you not go without?
Bracelets, because necklaces you wear for eveyone else. When wearing a necklace you normally can’t see it but when you wear a bracelet you and everyone else can enjoy it. A bracelet will also be the first thing someone sees when you go to shake hands.
What 5 items do you have in your studio that you use nearly every day?
Oh that’s easy:
bench shear,
bench grinder,
Swanson disk cutter,
dremmel,
Lampworking tools ‘n torch.
