The Key to the Past
Posted on | August 1, 2012 | Comments Off
My inspiration for this piece began with the products I was asked to use. The smallest die in the Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Fourteen series reminded me of a keyhole and I instantly knew that my piece needed to focus around that. Once I found the image of this Victorian era woman in the Belles Dames Francais image book, the piece began to take shape.
A story was beginning…Looking into the past is like looking through a keyhole. I can see only a glimpse of the life this woman must have experienced. What was her name? Did she have several children? What were her passions and interests? Did she have a happy life? Wouldn’t it be exciting to take a key and open up the door to the past to answer these questions? Would I like the answers? Perhaps it is best that I just create my own joyful story for this lovely lady!
I hope you enjoy this project and I invite you to visit my blog, www.katalinajewelry.blogspot.com for more creative ideas.
