When I work with metal I get a sense of appreciation for the way it forms itself when manipulated
I would love to design a bracelet
I would love to make a piece of jewelry for Joy Behar and have it shown on the View

I love working with metal, forming it, melting it, sculpting it. I would love to make a necklace and bracelet set. I would make it for my friend Sandy – she owns a really nice boutique and I think it would fit her style

I’m the granddaughter of a blacksmith~I love working with metal because I can saw it, sand it, stamp it, etch it, form it and make an adornment that will hopefully bring joy.
I would love to design a necklace for my friend Kate. And I would cherish a new book to learn more ways to play with my beloved metal!

I love the process of working with metals because you can transform them into anything.
I would love to design a necklace with many elements hanging off of it.
I would like to design for Anne Hathaway because she has a great sense of style.

i would love to learn to work with metal. i am intrigued by the beauty that can be created with a simple piece of metal.
i would love to design/create a necklace and maybe a bracelet as well.
for now i would be happy with creating something beautiful for myself.

I love the texture of metal jewelry.
I would most like to make a ring. (Although that fork bracelet sounds intriguing!)
I would love to make jewelry for one of my favorite mystery authors. J.A. Jance and Sue Grafton always wear nice jewelry in their author photos on their books. :)

I love the fire, taking a flat piece of metal seemingly resistant to form and hammering and shaping it to my desire…at least when it works out well…I would love to make a bracelet for George Clooney to wear to the Oscars!!!! Just while we are wishing…

I love the change of texture and shape that happens when hammering simple pieces of sheet metal. I want to make chain for a bracelet or a segment of a necklace by fusing fine silver wire jump rings. I would like to make a piece of jewelry for Neil Caffery (Matt Bomer) to steal on “White Collar”…TV show.

I love every bit of working with metal — its sheen, its weight, its strength and its malleability. I like how it moves when it’s hammered/forged. I like how it changes color when it’s heated. I think I’m a metal freak!
I’d like to make a metal toque, something tribal and ancient looking, yet elegant too. Timeless.
I’d like to give my handmade jewelry to my son’s girlfriend. She’s lovely and looks good in anything and doesn’t have a lot of money to spend on herself.

1. I like working with metal because it’s so versatile. Metal sheets, wire, cutouts; silver, copper, brass. It’s bendable, fire-able, flexible. You can paint it, patina it. It’s fun.
2. I prefer to make simple pieces I can wear everyday. Earrings and necklaces are what I make most since I work with my hands.
3. If I could make a piece of jewelry for someone it would be someone like Rosemary Gladstar.

Hi Jen,
I would LOVE to win your book and your other art mechanique goodies…
So to answer your questions:
1) I am most intrigued with the VERSATILITY metal offers to jewelry designers – it can fold, form, spiral, draw into a wire/bead, etched, hold other objects, colored with and without heat…
ISN’T IT MAGICAL ??
2)I would love to design a bracelet-cum-ring ! Something that twirls around the finger, and evolves into a bracelet around the wrist….when I master multiple forms of metal-working it is on my to-do list…
3) I would love to adorn Actress – Maggie Smith – she has been aging so gracefully and I love her confidence. I would love to design for her…
Looking fwd to your and Susan’s workshops at the B&B show in June!

1. The final result…I love to wear metal and I love it even more knowing I made it myself.
2. I would live to make an Asian inspired necklace. Incorporating the Asian vintage tribal textiles I have been collecting .
3. hummm how about Oprah? : )

My favorite thing about working with metals is watching the transformation of turning a simple rough piece of metal into something beautiful.
I am an earring girl and wouldn’t leave home without them.
I would make jewelry for my biggest fan, my mom. She proudly wears everything I make for her and now, even in her 80′s, she wears jewelry everyday even if she isn’t going anywhere.

1. I am intrigued by working with metal because I find it amazing how versatile it can be.
2. I piece I would like to make is a ring… it so far is the only piece that has eluded me.
3. I would like to make a jewelry piece for Angelina Jolie
February 24th, 2013 @ 9:11 am
1. WHAT intrigues you about working with metal?
for jewelry I think it will last so worth the time and patience
2. The JEWELRY piece you would like to design, stamp, forge, form or fold is…
I am really liking the pierced metal pieces where stitching is added – I am thinking a bracelet or cuff would be cool
3. What FAMOUS, or NOT-FAMOUS PERSON you would like to personally adorn with your handcrafted metal jewelry piece?
Wow – interesting question. It would be a huge compliment is Susan wore a piece! But it would mean the most if one of my jewelry friends did.

I am intrigued by the alchemy of metalworking. The ability of metal to transmute itself into many different forms, from a raw organic state to one of refined beauty by hammering, riveting, soldering, and cold connecting, metal affords the most diversity of all of the other jewelry arts.
I would like to design a large neckpiece using a hand forged chain, a pendant using a found object piece of rusty metal, and a patinated copper foundation showcasing a silver bezeled turquoise stone. Diane Sawyer is my muse!

i love working with metal…always have…present time…i’m relearning anew how to work with metal as i recover from a traumatic brain injury…
at this point of recovery…i’m just starting slowly to make “stuff” again…so it doesn’t really matter what it is…i just want to create with metal again…
i would love to adorn my daughter…to tell her how much i love her…

1. WHAT intrigues you about working with metal?
I’m mesmerized and afraid of hot molten metal. I recently overcame this fear just a bit and learned to solder. I’d love to learn more ways to work with heated metal.
2. The JEWELRY piece you would like to design, stamp, forge, form or fold is…I’m a bit of an earring freak, and would love to play with copper to create one of a kind earrings with some color changes in the copper.
3. What FAMOUS, or NOT-FAMOUS PERSON you would like to personally adorn with your handcrafted metal jewelry piece? I’d love to create yoga inspired jewelry for my yoga practice crew.
Congrats on your new book Jen. You’re an amazing artist author.

I LOVE your style as an Artist!! The industrial feel, but I’d want to mix it with the style of western too!!
I have two boys one 6 and one a month old so I’d have to have a piece adorned with them on it!! I love to alter metal through flame, pounding, color and natural processes. The serendipity is exciting. I have a lot of experiments but not a lot of good work yet.
I want to create a piece using metal with other elements such as polymer clay, cement, found objects, probably a statement necklace.
I would like a piece of mine to be auctioned off at an auction to benefit a good cause so that someone who cherishes it would get it and it would also help someone.

1. Seeing metal that hasn’t been forced into some perfect utility shape, metal that is allowed to show the true artistry of the shaper emanates the aura of a time long lost, one of chivalry, magjik, and childlike wonder, gothic castles, and finding treasure. When I see a great piece with baubles and bends, I just want to touch it!
2. I would create a chunky clip dangle that easily unclips as the center focus of an amazing necklace to then decorate my purse, then at my whim can be the decor of a tieback on my living room curtain – grab it on the way out the door where it becomes an amazing piece to hang from my rearview mirror, later clip it to a beltloop. I love creating items that can be used for multipurposes and that are easy to move from one use to the next but tough enough to take the wear and tear.
3. Famous person I could create a piece for? My childhood icon, CHER! She was the Lady GaGa of my generation. Amazing, extreme outfits with a touch of fun elegance. But more likely, the nonfamous person that would love it most (I greedily say) is ME!

1. I love tools so the idea of getting to work with some new ones sounds fascinating. And I’m sure there’s some crossover with said tools to papercrafting and sewing.
2. I would like to make a sheep. I have all kinds of sheep collectibles. I see one mounted on a nice background, perhaps in a pewter color.
3. I’m tempted to say “me” but I think a nice simple well crafted piece would look great on
my best friend, Jean, a very humble but giving person.
