We know you are completely true, but are you blue?
There is no need to be blue…. because Jen Cushman is teaching a variety of mixed media and jewelry classes for your designing pleasure at the fabulous To Bead True Blue.
All the fun happens in Tucson in February when Arizona’s weather is oh-so-glorious!
Jen is teaching 5 different classes so you can choose one or a bundle!
Sign up: Breaking Out of the Mold Jewelry
Date/time: 2 to 7 p.m., Friday, February 7
Class Description: For those of you who love treasure hunting and incorporating found objects into your mixed-media jewelry, this is a techniques-based 6 hour workshop tailor-made for you. Learn how to easily make molds of your found object treasures with non-toxic silicone molding putty and then how to make resin castings from your molds. Once the resin is fully dry, learn how to add surface treatments to completely alter your resin castings with paint and patinas. See how easily it is to replicate your found object castings with paint and faux finish techniques, or how to completely alter your castings to turn them into entirely new components. If you are someone who thinks twice about using your precious objects in your work, this workshop will help overcome that and have you seeing your treasures in an entirely new light.
Date/time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, February 8
Paper is a non-traditional element when it comes to jewelry making, but the addition of a jeweler’s grade resin makes it possible to create beautiful and durable jewelry from simple wire worked forms and delicate tissue paper. Add some paper arts techniques, such as stamping, coloring and mark making and you’ll find yourself exploring a mixed-media rabbit hole of artistic possibilities.
