Hello, Good-by and a mixed media giraffe

Art Mechanique molding puttyThis little mixed media giraffe seems to be saying hello to the 2014 ICE Resin Creative Team — the  members will be announced December 13.

Sandy Marin made the body and legs of this so so fashionable critter  out of an upcycled wooden box, paint, a ruler, an tulle for the skirt.

The body is cast ICE Resin using Art Mechainque Molding Putty.

Holiday Cherub Necklace

ice resin cherub necklace
This piece was all about bringing several of my favorite things together…Ice Resin®, bobbles, Iced Enamels and SLK bezels.
I love using Ice Resin bobbles in all of my mixed media creations and I had just completed several sets and I fell in love with this little cherub. The perfect backdrop would be the awesome Iced Enamels™ in Relique Ivory. I began with a large round hobnail bezel in antiqued bronze and I covered the bottom of the bezel using the Iced Enamels. The sweet cherub bobble was placed in the middle of the bezel and adhere with just a bit of E6000. The bezel was then filled with Ice Resin and it was allowed to cure. From the bottom of the bezel I hung a lovely little bundle of vintage pearls and the entire pendant was hung from a vintage necklace of multiple chains, beads and pearls.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Game of Hearts

game of hearts jewelry

I love the new Art Mechanique Essential Ephemera Papers and have delighted in using them in many different ways.

This particular piece uses one of my favorite patterns. I love how the green pattern and muted aged paper portion of the papers work together to create something old with a modern twist.

As I was working on this piece I came across the dimensional heart charm and decided to incorporate it into the pendant.

A wonderful game of hearts that has the hues that will allow it to be worn in both summer and fall.

Flatwoods Folk Art
Supplies you will need:
Art Mechanique Hobnail Heart Bezel – antique silver
ICE Resin
Art Mechanique Essential Ephemera Papers
Heart Charm – dimensional
chain

Directions: I first cut the paper to size utilizing the stencils by SLK and then adhered it into the bezel with a bit of glue. The heart was then glued into place using E6000. This was set aside to dry completely.
Once dry, Ice Resin was mixed and poured into the bezel and allowed to cure for approximately 12 hours before pouring a second layer to dome the resin. It was then allowed to fully dry before the necklace was added.

Magical Autumn Necklace

I love the colors of Autumn and this Shattered Fire Opal carried all of the hues that make this season so magical!

magical-autum-venable
I began by covering the bottom of the bezel with the shattered mica and filled the bezel almost completely full with Ice Resin. I allowed the resin to fully cure I added more Ice Resin to give that beautiful domed effect. The leaf was placed in the middle of the bezel and it was set aside to cure.
Once fully cured I added the chain, wire wrapped the wood bead dangle and then finally added the pear pin with a vintage button attached.

Supplies you will need:
Art Mechanique Hobnail Bezel
ICE Resin
Shattered Fire Opal
Chain
Brass Stamping – Leaf
Wood Beads
Pear Pin
Button

Now you have a beautiful piece to wear as a celebration of Autumn. What do you love about autumn?
